Privacy Policy
Garyisms is published and operated by JMOSI LLC ("JMOSI," "we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy applies to the Garyisms mobile application (the "App") and explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you when you use the App.
By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
Garyisms collects only the information necessary to provide the multiplayer game experience and improve the App.
Information You Provide
- A display name that identifies you during gameplay.
- Sentences and other content you create while playing the game.
- Feedback, bug reports, feature requests, or other information you voluntarily submit through the App.
Information Collected Automatically
We may automatically collect:
- An app-generated device identifier used to recognize your device and support gameplay features such as reconnecting to an active game.
- Gameplay information, including lobby participation, game progress, votes, scores, and related multiplayer state.
- Technical information and usage analytics, such as app interactions, performance metrics, device characteristics, and diagnostic information collected through our analytics provider.
We do not intentionally collect precise location information.
Analytics
Garyisms uses PostHog to better understand how players use the App, identify issues, and improve gameplay.
Analytics data is used only to improve the App and troubleshoot issues.
Hall of Fame and Community Features
Garyisms may recognize exceptional player-created sentences through community features such as a Hall of Fame or other featured showcases.
Community-recognized sentences may be displayed:
- Within the App.
- On official Garyisms community channels, including Discord.
- On Garyisms social media accounts.
- In promotional, marketing, or other materials related to Garyisms.
When featured, we may display the sentence together with the display name used during gameplay. We will not intentionally include additional personal information beyond what you choose to provide within the App.
Discord Sharing
Garyisms includes optional Discord integration.
If you choose to enable Share on Discord when creating a lobby, limited information about that lobby, such as the join code and game status updates, may be posted to a Discord server.
You may also choose to manually visit our Discord community using the in-app Discord link. Interactions with Discord are governed by Discord's own privacy practices.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Operate multiplayer gameplay.
- Match players into games and lobbies.
- Restore active game sessions.
- Display player-created content during gameplay.
- Feature community-recognized player-created sentences in Hall of Fame or similar showcases.
- Promote Garyisms using featured community-recognized content.
- Improve game balance and user experience.
- Monitor application performance and reliability.
- Detect abuse, misuse, or technical issues.
- Respond to feedback and improve Garyisms.
Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with trusted service providers that help us operate the App, including:
- Supabase, which provides backend infrastructure and data storage.
- PostHog, which provides analytics services.
- Discord, only when you choose to use optional Discord features.
- Discord, when you choose to use optional Discord features or voluntarily submit feedback that is routed to our private Discord channels for review.
Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, improve, secure, and promote Garyisms, or as otherwise required by applicable law.
Gameplay data, analytics, and community-recognized featured content may be retained for operational, historical, community, and promotional purposes.
Children's Privacy
Garyisms is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to help protect information collected through the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
Your Choices
You may choose whether to provide a display name, enable Discord lobby sharing, or join our Discord community. You may uninstall the App at any time.
If you wish to request deletion of information that may identify you, please contact us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the Last Updated date.
